It was a passing thought
Barely true desire.
See I’m kind of like a starfish
Laying on the beach
The waves, they washed me way up shore
And left me there to dry.
Now I was thinking dismal thoughts,
And singing to myself.
That’s when I saw a shooting star
Soaring though the sky
I took a breath and made a wish
Then suddenly I felt
My body being lifted
Slowly from the sand
The air rushed past my salty skin
And then that’s when I fell
Back into the water’s depths
The sea I call my home.
